       Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887)
made this bust around 1863. It was made in
several examplaires, of which at least one
        is in bronze.

      Carrier-Belleuse, with whom Rodin worked
in Belgium, made copies of his own works at
        workshops, excluding those in bronze.
Only one of these busts of Beethoven can
be found in a public collection, in the museum
of Ermitage at Saint-Petersburg... Thanks to Laure de Margerie, from the Musée
            d'Orsay
who replied with clairty and kindness to my
    requests for research... |
