Title... Ludwig van Beethoven by Auguste Rodin

Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) created numerous splendid statues.

He also sculpted Beethoven in a medallion for the Royal School of Music of Brussels. This sculpture dates from 1874.

It would seem that Rodin was inspired by another bust created by Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887)...

Title... Another bust of Ludwig van Beethoven in Belgium

There exists also a bust of Beethoven, by Guglielmo Cacciani (1893-1969).

Having become a qualified sculptor at the age of 19 he was invited to sculpt several pieces for the Verdi's monument at Parme: the Troubadour, the Force of Destiny, Alzira and Falstaff.

Afetr the First World War he won a competition for his bust of Beethoven, for a conservatoire in Belgium.
